About this campaign

The Canine Epilepsy Project our university conducting research with the goal of mapping the genome of the Cane Corso and identifying the mutation that causes epilepsy in the breed. The AKC's Canine Health Foundation is matching donations dollar-for-dollar for a LIMITED TIME ONLY, so the donation will be made through them if still available, or directly to the Canine Epilepsy Project, if not.

Epilepsy is a concern in the Cane Corso breed, especially problematic because unlike orthopedic issues and some other health problems, no testing is currently available. Mapping the Cane Corso's genome is a critical step in identifying the mutation causing the problem and brings us one step closer to creating a test.
