About this campaign
Boston Children's Hospital has been ranked as one of the nation's best pediatric hospitals by U.S. News & World Report for the past 24 years. Boston Children's is the primary pediatric teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School and the largest provider of health care to Massachusetts children. In addition to 395 pediatric and adolescent inpatient beds and 228 outpatient programs, Boston Children's houses the world's largest research enterprise based at a pediatric medical center, where its discoveries benefit both children and adults.
All proceeds of this fundraiser will directly benefit Boston Children's Hospital Every Child Fund which helps care for patients and families as a whole; this includes programs such as dog therapy, music therapy, twisty straws as incentive to help kids drink healing fluids, meal vouchers, global health projects for kids everywhere, clinical programs to treat the sickest children, free housing for families, etc.
My inspiration to run the Boston Marathon to benefit Boston Children's Hospital comes from the 3.5 year old me that watched my baby brother, Dinesh, go to and from Boston Children's Hospital to receive the best care in the world during his 6 months of life, before he passed away in our home surrounded by family, love, and support. Boston Children's has had a place in my heart before I truly knew the miracles that happen within those walls. My hope is to now give back to the place that gave my family time with my brother and hope for my brother.
