About this campaign
Makenna is a beautiful 7th grader who attends OJR MS
From Makennas father, Richard on 12/19/17:
Last night we received Makenna’s diagnosis. She has developed Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She will be admitted to CHOP for the next 30 days starting today.
Today she will have a Central Line placed, a spinal tap to see if the cells are in her spinal fluid, and her first treatment of Chemo therapy while under sedation.
She will then be transferred to the Oncology Floor. Makenna’s 30 Day treatment plan will be 10 consecutive days of chemo followed by 20 days of recovery. The chemo will kill her immune system so the prolong stay is required for her protection until her white blood cell recovers.
This is all the details we have right now. The doctors are still finalizing the treatment plan.
We were hoping for a different outcome on the treatment plan, but this is our reality. This is our focus and this is our fight.
Thanks for all the support and prayers. We have a long road ahead and we will need every one of them.

Hunter has been friends with Makenna since the first grade at North Coventry Elementary School. Hunter jumped into action the second he heard of her diagnosis. Showing her support by launching this fundraiser is just a tad of what he and all of you in the community and at the Middle School can do to help support her fight. If you attend the Middle School, shirts will be worn on February 9th in a school effort to "Orange Out" at the Student vs Faculty Basketball Game. All proceeds will go directly to Makenna's Relay for Life Team.
