J&L 58 Porter Locomotive Shirts

Back for a limited time due to popular demand! If you missed out the first time we offered these shirts or have worn out the one you purchased, here is another chance to get one.

The restoration of J&L 58 is about 90% complete as of the end of April, 2018. We are finishing up on boiler repairs and after the boiler has been approved for operation by the State of Ohio the final assembly will take place.

Money raised from this fundraiser will be used for such things as :
Purchasing first load of coal
Buy materials to convert a flatcar into a rider car
Obtain new mechanical packing for the piston rods (the old ones are on there now but they WILL leak)
Make a set of new boiler washout plugs
And about a hundred little last minute things that need to be done to get her 100% complete and ready to run.

Thanks to everyone's support of this locomotive project, the J&L 58 will very soon return to operation in Youngstown, OH. We started this project in January of 2015, stripped the locomotive down to the frame and rebuilt it in 3 1/2 years. Now that spring is finally upon us, work is proceeding on a nearly daily basis to get her up and running by summer. So please buy a shirt, make a donation and be sure to come to Youngstown and pay us a visit when the 58 is under steam!

PS If you are wearing your shirt when you visit, you will be given an opportunity to pull the throttle and run the 58 under the direct supervision of our CMO, RIck Rowlands.
