Whovian Running Club is pleased to announce our fifth event of 2018:
The Demons Run Half Marathon!
Our fifth event of 2018 is celebrating one of the best Doctor Who episodes EVER! If you haven't watched the sixth season (or at least the first seven episodes) of "New Who"...you need to get caught up in a hurry because there are going to be some SPOILERS with this event!
The shirt is a tribute to our favorite Centurion and the moment he appears on the Cyber fleet and says "I have a message from The Doctor, and a question from me. Where is my wife?" Cyberman: "What is the message?" {Cyber fleet explodes in the background}
Rory: "Would you like me to repeat the question?" This quote also alludes to the question that must never be answered, Doctor WHO? If you've ever wanted to wear the greatest question ABOUT a question, we've got the shirt for you!
When you register for the event, you will get this amazing 3" medal that looks just like the box that Dorium Maldovar's head ended up in (I told you...SPOILERS!)...the front slides open to reveal a mirror...now YOU are a Headless Monk! Of course, it comes with the custom satin ribbon (featuring the "Doctor's first stars") and the always popular custom digital bib.
"Demons run when a good man goes to war...but what happens when they come home?" Whovian Running Club is honored to announce that our charity partner for this event is Patriot PAWS. This amazing organization trains service dogs for wounded veterans. Our goal for this event is to provide critical funds for Patriot PAWS' new Veteran's House facility for visiting veterans AND WRC will get the honor of naming one of the dogs (is there a more appropriate name than Melody?)! The suggested run date for this event is Monday, August 20th... the birthday of Sophie Aldred who played Ace. Remember, this is just a fun suggestion. You are welcome to complete your half marathon whenever you want. All medals will be mailed the week after registration closes on August 26th.
