About this campaign
October is Down Syndrome Awareness month! This is an important time for the Down syndrome community to raise awareness about Down syndrome in order to educate others, as well as promote acceptance and inclusion for the hundreds of thousands of amazing people living with this genetic condition. This year Down Syndrome Connection of Anne Arundel County has created an original T shirt to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Our logo is "Different GENES Same DREAMS" on a splash of blue and yellow (Down Syndrome Awareness colors)!
The mission of the Down Syndrome Connection is to connect individuals with Down syndrome and their families to supports within the community while promoting a culture of inclusion, advocacy, education, and family support, all aimed at improving the lives of those living with Down syndrome. The profit from our fundraiser will go toward scholarships, social gatherings, education materials, and new parent welcome baskets.
Our organization is an affiliate of the Arc of the Central Chesapeake Region, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
