About this campaign
Our limited edition Fall 2018 shirt is here! Student media is not fully funded by the university. We receive student service fee funds to help cover student editor stipends and printing, but other expense must be paid from ad revenue and fundraisers. Student media is the learning laboratory for many of our nation's future freedom fighters whose job it is to defend the First Amendment. Help support vibrant student media today!
As one of the oldest student publications in Texas, The Star has published steadily since 1911 through the Great Depression, two world wars, and through the Korean, Vietnam and Gulf Wars.
Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th president of the United States, served as the summer editor of The Star in 1930.
