About this campaign
Little Wanderers NYC invites you to join in on our first annual virtual 5k (3.1 mile) walk/run to raise funds for our rescue efforts. Our goal is to raise $30,000, or one month of vetting costs for LWNYC. Our mission is to rescue sick and injured cats, because of this our vet bills are astronomical.
During the weekend of September 28th & 29th 2019, we are asking you, your friends, and your family to join us in a virtual 5K to raise funds to help our most vulnerable rescues. You can do this walk/run in your own neighborhood, local high school track, or on a treadmill at the gym--at any time that works for you! If you do not like to walk or run we welcome any way to participate! Biking, rollerblading, scooting, swimming, etc.. This 5K is our way to include LWNYC supporters from all over the world in one event. We are excited to see how many different states and countries we can have represented!
Please be safe! If this is inspiration for you to begin an exercise program, please see your doctor for approval first. If the conditions the weekend of the 5K are unfavorable, please postpone to a different time. Your safety comes first!
Build a team by asking your book club, sports team, classmates, coworkers, house of worship, and, of course, your family and friends to participate too! We chose high quality, sweat wicking shirts in men, women, children, and toddler sizing, so everyone regardless of age can participate. (See more below!)
You do not have to fundraise in order to participate, the purchase of a shirt is your ticket in! However, please feel free to raise additional funds if you would like to! We know that not everyone is comfortable fundraising, so we did not want to make it a stipulation to join in. We know that some of you are natural-born fundraisers, and we encourage you to help us raise some much needed money! You can direct all fundraising efforts to this fundraising page, click the option for "donate only", and have your family and friends donate in your name!
