About this campaign

Casa De Mi Padre (My Father’s House) children’s home is located in Santa Cruz del Quiché, Guatemala, Central America. Although the country is ecologically beautiful, poverty is particularly widespread throughout the countryside and large intercity areas. Illiteracy, infant mortality, and malnutrition are among the highest in the region, while life expectancy is the lowest. The Quiche people are an indigenous group who have limited education and resources. The population of the city of Santa Cruz is between 45 and 55 thousand people with no operating orphanage within the city. The opportunity for ministry is vast and the need for orphan care in Santa Cruz, Quiche, and the surrounding region is real. Casa De Mi Padre has been established to meet this need.

In July of 2018, my husband and I spent a week in Del Quiche at Casa De Mi Padre. We fell in love with the children, and our hearts were burdened for the extremely impoverished area in which they live. The director of the orphanage, Shane Sanderson, told us the key to overcoming poverty is JESUS and an EDUCATION. Shane is doing a wonderful job of telling the children about Jesus, but educating them is a challenge. In order to be enrolled in public school, they must have a birth certificate. Many of his children arrive without that information. In order to educate them, he enrolls them in a private, Christian school. Of course this doesn't come without cost! All of the funds raised from the sale of these T-shirts will go directly to the educational fund for Shane's children. Thank you for contributing toward a brighter future for these beautiful, full-of-potential children.

I believe in what Shane is doing at Casa de me Padre. Stepping up to be a father, a mentor, a teacher, a discipler to these kids, and rescuing them from unspeakable conditions is what Jesus directed us to do.
