About this campaign

Oak ecosystems are globally imperiled, making them one of the rarest ecosystems on the planet. Saving and caring for these ecosystems is a top conservation priority for us, and for this reason, we have declared 2019 the “Year of the Oak.”

Oaks support over 500 native species including our beloved redheaded woodpecker, but protecting these ecosystems is not enough. Much like maintaining a home so that it does not lose its value, we must continually steward these ecosystems before they degrade beyond repair. Your support will help us ensure the longevity of these precious ecosystems before it is too late.

With your help, Wisconsin’s native ecosystems can thrive for generations to come.
Thank you for your support!

Since 1992, the Waukesha County Land Conservancy has worked at fulfilling its mission of protecting environmentally significant lands and water in Waukesha County for future generations. Nearly 3,000 acres of primary environmental corridor, undisturbed shoreline, pristine floating bog, uplands, woodlands and wetlands are preserved for generations to come.

The Waukesha County Land Conservancy is a nonprofit land trust funded through memberships and donations. With the assistance of professional biologists, naturalists and other land professionals, the Waukesha County Land Conservancy is seeking to protect the most environmentally significant remaining natural areas for the public benefit.
