Potterhead Running Club is pleased to present our fifth event of 2019:

A Quick Pygmy Up 5k!

For our fifth event of 2019, we're celebrating one of Fred & George's greatest (and definitely the cutest) creations: The Pygmy Puff! Bred as miniature versions of Puffskeins, Pygmy Puffs became something of a craze in the wizarding world. They are known for eating anything from leftovers to spiders. The most well-known Pygmy Puff was the one Ginny bought and named Arnold.

Your registration will include a first-of-its-kind FURRY medal! Yes, this medal has purple fur (faux fur, of course...no Pygmy Puffs were harmed in the making of these medals) and an adorable PVC face.

Fred and George bred the Pygmy Puffs and sold them as part of the WonderWitch line of products. Let's face it: We've got a lot of "WonderWitches" in PHRC! In case you're wondering, the shirts are not pink...they are #violentlypink...just like the WonderWitch product line. Available in multiple fabrics and styles from tee to tank to hoodie, all proceeds go to support our wonderful charity partner.

Pygmy Puffs were bred to bring joy to children...and now they're going to help children live healthier lives.

Potterhead Running Club is thrilled to announce our charity partner for this event is the Cerebral Palsy Foundation!

The Cerebral Palsy Foundation defines and addresses Moments of Impact – the times at which interventions and insights, if properly implemented, have the power to change lives. CPF's current initiative is to get early detection protocols in place to reduce the average diagnosis age from 24 months down to as early as possible so interventions and treatments can begin earlier in a child's life. CPF currently has six sites (Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus; University of Utah; UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles; Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia; Houston Medical Center; and the Kennedy Krieger Institute) and their efforts have reduced the age of diagnosis from 24 months to 10.5 months in just one year!! Our goal for this event is to raise enough to provide the funding to add a SEVENTH hospital to this program. By doing so, we will impact the lives of approximately 5,000 families!

The suggested run date for A Quick Pygmy Up 5k is August 11th... Ginny Weasley's birthday! Remember, this is only a fun suggestion. Being a virtual run, you’re welcome to complete your distance whenever, wherever, and however you choose!

Registration closes at midnight on August 11th (or early morning on the 12th depending on your time zone). All medals will be mailed on Monday, August 19th.
