Potterhead Running Club is pleased to present our sixth event of 2019:

Platform Year Six!

It's back! Our annual event returns to celebrate Harry's sixth year with a beautiful new medal representing Harry's adventures getting back to Hogwarts. No, your eyes aren't deceiving you...the medal isn't missing a piece...it's just partially covered by an invisibility cloak! The back features Diagon Alley, Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes, Petrificus Totalus spell, and even a few wrackspurts.

The homeless are often an invisible part of our communities...it's time to make them visible. Potterhead Running Club is thrilled to announce our Charity Partner for this event is Orange Sky Australia...our very first Australian Charity Partner!

The mission of Orange Sky Australia is to provide a platform for every day Australians to connect through a regular laundry and shower service via a fleet of 29 vans all over Australia. Their focus is on creating a safe, positive and supportive environment for people who are too often ignored or who feel disconnected from the community. Their volunteers are not social workers or experts on homelessness - they are empathetic listeners and great conversationalists.

In other exciting news, we are thrilled to have Ragnar back as our co-sponsor for the Platform event! They will be promoting the event to their running community and making a generous donation to our charity partner! Over 140 PHRC/Fanthropy Teams are running Ragnar events in 2019, so this partnership is truly one of our favorites.

This shirt says it all...We are all on this journey together. As fans. As runners. As members of a global community trying to change the world. The shirts are available in multiple fabrics and styles from tee to tank to hoodie, all proceeds go to support Orange Sky.

The suggested run date for Platform Year Six is, as always, September 1st...the day everyone goes back to Hogwarts! In a fun twist, please try to finish your run as close to 11:00 AM as possible so you don't miss the train! Remember, this is only a fun suggestion. Being a virtual run, you’re welcome to complete your distance whenever, wherever, and however you choose!

As many of you know, we typically have registration open for one month, but since Ragnar is our co-sponsor for this event, we are going to keep registration open for FIVE weeks so the event will still be open when we attend the Ragnar Washington DC Sunset event the weekend of September 21st! Registration will close at midnight on September 22nd (or early morning on the 23rd depending on your time zone). But since we don't want everyone to wait until the end of September to get their medals, we're going to send the medals out in two waves! Everyone who registers by midnight on Thursday, September 12th, will see their medals ship on Monday, September 16th. The remaining medals will ship out the week of the 23rd.
