Jenna Marie & NOLA Street Cats Matter!

Jenna Marie sat in Jackson Square, a popular New Orleans tourist area, and was ignored by hundreds of people every day as she ate twigs and leaves to fill her empty belly. This must have been incredibly painful due to the cancer that was destroying her mouth, but she was determined to survive. Luckily for Jenna Marie, her human namesake Jenna from New Jersey and her friend from Australia, Nadia came along and turned their vacation into a mission of mercy. Facebook connections put the girls in touch with Carmen and Jim Couturier, two NOLA locals. After a few hours of work and some wet food, Jenna and Carmen trapped this grateful little girl in a carrier and a new life began for Jenna Marie with her adoptive family.
We learned that Jenna Marie was a mere 2.8 lbs when rescued which is equivalent to a 3 week old kitten. She was starving, anemic and as mentioned suffering from oral cancer. Unfortunately, there are many other “Jenna Marie’s” suffering on the streets there. Our goal is to raise awareness about them, raise some funds for Jenna Marie’s ongoing vet care and to donate to the Louisiana SPCA. They need support for the TNR and/or rehoming of the massive number of homeless street cats in New Orleans. All profits from the bags will be split 50/50. If you see a cat in need? Be the difference to one of these cats. Find food, find help, don’t expect that someone else will save them, because that help may never come.
