About this campaign

The EHS STEM Club competes with the Ten80 National STEM League. We are fundraising to help pay new supplies, materials, remote control (rc) cars, team t-shirts, and offset the cost of travel expenses.

Over the last seven years, our students have founded and developed our school's STEM Club. This club works in conjunction with the National STEM League to compete in the Ten80 Student Racing Challenge and the Student Rover Challenge. Our students have done increasingly well over the years, never finishing below fifth place nationally. In 2017, our team was National Grand Champions. In 2019, our team one first place overall in Engineering Design. The Rover (robotics) team has won first place for the last three consecutive years.

Throughout the year, students work on engineering design projects. In addition, they modify, redesign and build remote control (RC) cars. At the competition, they test their hypotheses and race against teams from across the country. In addition, the students are responsible for creating their own organization complete with a business model and project plan. This organization has launched many students into a passion to pursue engineering and other STEM related fields of study post high school. It is a great opportunity for students to engage in and integrate the STEM subjects in a real world and practical style For the last four years, our STEM Club has been competing with the Ten80 Education Student Racing Challenge. This amazing organization designs curriculum for students to explore the STEM fields while competing with different engineering design projects and RC (remote control) car racing. During the year, the students experiment with statics, friction, forces, etc to design the best possible RC car. At competitions, the students compete against other schools from around the New England area and the entire country to see which team has come up with the winning solution.

The club desperately needs new materials for competition both to replace worn and broken materials and to design new experiments. In addition, we need to raise money to buy team t-shirts for competitions and help offset travel expenses.
