Epilepsy Awareness - Amelia Hopper

Amelia has been permanently diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder that causes Epilepsy. Amelia's first hospital visit was at 4 weeks old, and was diagnosed two weeks later with a gene mutation disorder that less than 350 people in the world have. Amelia's condition comes with a lot of attributes, but Epilepsy is the most challenging for her. Epilepsy is a generalized neurological condition that causes seizures, in which more than 3.1 million cases are diagnosed each year. Amelia's Epilepsy is specific to her disorder and is very hard to treat, as she is resistant to most drugs.

Amelia will more than likely battle this for the rest of her life, but one day modern medicine will be able to find a cure for Epilepsy and allow her to be seizure free. Until then, people and children with her condition will find ways to endure, conquer, and resolve the issues as they arrive.
