Shady Grove Tree House Fundraiser

NOTE: Shady Grove Presbyterian Church is collecting the money for the Tree House and will deliver all money raised to the Tree House upon the fundraiser ending and the funds being received.



God’s people are to be those who are united by the love of Christ. Jesus said in John 13 that we are to love one another as he has loved us. He even said that others will know we are his disciples by the love that we have for one another.

But with the recent events happening all around us, there are so many pressures which could cause God’s people to become very divided. Differing views on how to handle COVID-19, racial reconciliation and injustice, and politics during a heated election year are all issues that our flesh, the world, and the devil would use to divide us.

But God has given us the love of Christ that overcomes our divisions and unites us together as his people. Colossians 3:14 exhorts us to put on the love of Christ, which will bind us together in perfect harmony.

As a tangible symbol of the love that we share in and from Christ, we have created a new t-shirt for our church which we are selling through a fundraiser. This fundraiser has two main purposes. First, it will remind us that although we may have our differences – even over really important matters – we are still one in Christ, and members of one another. Second, this fundraiser will give us the opportunity to be the church together. This love we have received from Christ isn’t just for us, but it is to overflow out of our hearts toward our neighbors and city.

The money raised in this fundraiser will go toward The Tree House Child Advocacy Center right here in Montgomery County Maryland. The Tree House is the only Child Advocacy Center in our county, and it is located just a couple miles from our church building. Shady Grove Presbyterian Church will be collecting the funds, and once the fundraiser is over we will give all money raised through shirts and donations directly to the Tree House.
