Pickin' for Preemies, the Texas Red Dirt country music event, is now a tradition in the Fort Worth community. Supporters from across the region come together annually to enjoy great tunes and raise funds for Cook Children's tiniest patients in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
While we’re disappointed we can’t get together this year, the celebratory essence of Pickin’ will continue. We hope you’ll show your support of this lifesaving event by purchasing a T-shirt or mask, or by simply making a donation ~ all from the comfort of your home. Your generosity will help us care for precious NICU babies, and that help is needed now more than ever.
As the only Level IV NICU in Tarrant County, Cook Children's has the technology and expertise to treat the sickest babies with the most difficult and complex diagnoses. Our program is also nationally recognized, thanks to our continually advancing neonatal medicine, technologies and excellent outcomes. And all of that is only possible with the help of compassionate donors like you

Both our boys were preemies in the Cooks NICU. 32 and 34weekers. We are so thankful for the love and care they received there.
Cook Children's NICU is one of the best facilities in the country. The highly trained staff compassionately care for the most fragile and vulnerable babies.
Our youngest son was born August 31, 2005 at just 23 weeks. He is almost 15 now, and leading a happy healthy life. The NICU was critical to his survival, and to our navigation through his long term hospitalization.
Apex does a charitable activity for Cook each year and we can't do it this year because of the pandemic. I wanted to show my support
My best friend had her baby at 20 weeks during this pandemic. through this tough time she was able to find some peace of mind when they used a crib cam for her to be able to watch her sweet baby grow.
