The Sterling Fire Department is a combination department, meaning that we are comprised of career members, paid-per-call members and per-diem (part time) employees. We are a professional all hazards organization that is highly trained for nearly any emergency. Our members are skilled in fire suppression, advanced life support, hazardous materials response, technical rescue and water/dive rescue. Our Paramedics service the Towns of Sterling, Clinton and Lancaster - who collectively make up a population of nearly 30,000 people in 66 square miles.
