for us to be able to do this, we must be able to pay the back taxes, liquor license, and have the money for basic utilities to continue the building’s basic operations. Back taxes, alone, are roughly $60,000 and the renewal for the liquor license is $1250 (plus any fees). We must pay the back taxes so we can file for taxes in November. Due to the shutdown,
The final part in this is that we must pay this by October 30th. If we are unable to meet this demand, we must move forward with the other option for the protection of all entities involved.
We have our sights set on fundraising through all avenues possible. Besides just getting back to being able to open the doors, we want to be operational, we must reiterate that bankruptcy is still very much something we have to consider, and if we are unable to hit the benchmark to keep going, any monies raised would go towards helping alleviate costs/debts before filing.

As I read this today I felt that I needed to reach out to as many people as I could to try and raise money for our community here in Albuquerque! The Soch has a local group of great performers and this is known as the Gay Cheers to many folks.

I’ve have been going to SOCH for 25 plus years, the entertainment is bar none. It’s a great place for our LGBTIQ community and I’ve gotten into a ton of good trouble there with friends and family fantastic memories!
