Miles for Matt Rossi

In March of 2018, Matt “Dragon” Rossi set out on a personal mission to hike the entire Appalachian Trail (25-30 miles per day) to raise money for an incredible kiddo Nolan. Nolan and Matt had a special bond with Matt taking Nolan’s photo around the globe on various hikes from Tahoe to Patagonia. Matt served our country for over 21 years and always gave of himself even up until his tragic and untimely death in December of 2018. In December of 2018, my son who looked up to Matt asked his sister and I to start hiking with him on the weekends to raise money for Nolan and other kids with special needs. My own children have special needs so this cause is close to my heart. Matt was a hero, friend and guardian of all of us in life. In my own retirement from the Air Force, I relocated my children to Texas to take on caregiver duty for Matt’s mother in the early stages of Alzheimer’s. Matt was dedicated to all of us and his mother and We want to keep his legacy alive by growing Miles for Matt Rossi into a highly successful non-profit to help more families. Our mission is to bring families into the outdoors on weekend hiking and outdoor respite retreats, Raise money to help families pay for expensive non-insurance covered therapies like Anat Baniel Method and others, as well as to help families get support equipment and resources for their special needs child or adult parent they must care for. (service dogs are one example)
