About this campaign

Artsakh (also known as Nagorno Karabagh) suffered tremendous losses after being attacked by Azerbaijan starting in September 2020. This ethnic Armenian enclave had gained de-facto independence from Azerbaijan following the fall of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s. Tensions have remained extremely high ever since.

The attempt to end Artsakh’s self-rule resulted in a 45-day war which killed more than 3,400 Artsakhi servicemen and women. Thousands more were injured—including many civilians who were displaced from their homes and forced to seek refuge in Armenia. While conflict in the region has flared up over the years, this one was particularly devastating because Turkey decided to back Azerbaijan, transforming it into a kind of proxy war.

While the world is focused on many other matters, the people of Artsakh are still in need of such basics as housing, medicine and food. As an Armenian-American who’s been very blessed, I’m grateful for the ability to give back and help my Artsakhi brothers and sisters.

All funds raised will support Ayo!, established in 2013 as a fundraising platform for Fund for Armenian Relief or FAR (rated 4 stars on Charity Navigator) by which Armenian and Artsakhi citizens can raise money for local projects —including humanitarian assistance. Ayo’s administrative costs are covered 100% by a FAR board member. For project updates, please visit: weareayo.org

To our Armenian and non-Armenian friends, please help raise awareness and show your support by buying one (or more!) of these reusable cotton bags. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.
