Bekka and Nick's Benefit

Their story: As some of you already know, on November 24th, Nick and Bekka were walking across Grand Ave when they were tragically struck by a car who fled the scene. Fortunately, the 911 call was made within seconds of the incident, and they were rushed to Regions hospital. They remained in critical condition in the ICU for a little over 3 weeks. Here they fought for their lives, and spent days taking one step forward and two steps back. Their doctors verbally expressed that their outcome would not be favorable. Just days after this was announced, Bekka and Nick began proving them wrong, and they continue to defy the odds day after day. Again, from the words of the doctor, what we are currently experiencing is a miracle. We are now very proud to announce that they have both recently made their way out of the ICU and onto a new floor where they can focus on their next step in the process: rehab. They spend each day with physical, occupational, and speech therapists working very hard to get stronger mentally, physically, and emotionally. Although we are extremely optimistic, the healing process is FAR from over. After seeing their strength shine through during these really tough times, we are confident that they will continue to overcome obstacles each and every day for as long as it takes. Which brings me to the point of all of this. As of today, Bekka and Nick have been in the hospital for over a month. That number is going to keep increasing. We all know that hospital bills are expensive, but I'm not quite sure that it's completely understood how much it costs for them to be there every day. I'll just leave it at this- each family has hundreds of thousands of dollars in hospital debt at this point. We would like to sell these t-shirts to help raise money for their medical funds.
