Prayers For Athena

Athena was diagnosed with a very rare blood disorder called Severe Aplastic Anemia on October 19th,2012 ... She got ATG treatment shortly after that but sadly the chemo failed to work and cure this fatal bone marrow failure. So as a family we decided that the best option we had was to go ahead and get a unrelated donor bone marrow transplant. Athena had her bone marrow transplant delayed 4 times because of lung infections... Finally on December 10th 2013 we had a miracle, Athena got her cells! The effects of  transplant will forever follow Athena throughout her life and there is still a lot of unknown things ahead because the doctors don't have much data on pediatric Aplastic Anemia patients after transplant (they only get two AA transplant cases a year).
