About this campaign

Teaching is the hardest job I have ever had. Yet it has also been the most rewarding. Helping students who WANT to learn and understand that a good education will benefit them is the best feeling in the world. But the system is definitely rigged against a lot of them. Not every student learns the same way or at the same pace. A student who is far behind their classmates will benefit more from being taught just above THEIR level than be forced to try to do what their peers are doing.

They CAN learn and they CAN grow and eventually be on grade level but it takes time, patience, and work from the student and the teacher. On the opposite side, there are also students who could be challenged above grade level and would excel at learning given the right circumstances. That's one reason I like to use computers in the classroom and diversify assignments to challenge ALL students at their levels.

Unfortunately technology is limited at a lot of schools and getting access to computers can be tough. Even with the limited access, my 8th grade Math 1 class has managed to get high benchmark scores by using technology to practice math problems set at or just above their level. In science, I can adjust the assignments online based on each student. That is why I am trying to raise enough funds to get a class set of chrome-books for next year. If you can help, awesome. If you can share and help spread the word, that's awesome too!
