About this campaign

Respect Trans Bodies!

QTPoC Mental Health is launching this tank top & t-shirt to raise money to create healing resources. Since 2015, we have held space for queer and trans people of color, both online and in person, reaching over 1/2 million people last year. We are a grassroots community-led organization without funding for our ongoing operations.

This April, we're publishing art and writing for Sexual Assault Awareness Month on www.restforresistance.com. This is the second year of SAAM features, edited by Princess Harmony Rodriguez. For 2019, we are focusing on sharing stories and healing journeys of trans and non-binary people of color.

To purchase this design as a t-shirt, available up to 6XL:

NOTE: This tank top is tagged with "ladies." Please sharpie it out, or remove the tearaway tag, as needed.

ABOUT US:

QTPoC Mental Health focuses on two goals: building community and promoting resources that support mental health. And we understand that community itself is a wellness resource, offering online and offline places to meet and heal together.

With an intersectional focus on mental health, our organization addresses the emotional impact of common experiences for trans people of color – including transphobia, inaccessible medical care, perpetual crisis, colonization of gender identities, housing instability, immigration, poverty, incarceration, isolation, suicidal ideation, and healing from abuse – while promoting healing within trans communities.

QTPoC Mental Health shifts conversations in mental health to include us, so that our communities can have greater access to tools to thrive, not merely survive. By addressing the emotions related to experiencing a combination of transphobia, racism, and other forms of oppression, QTPoC Mental Health is able to have a widespread impact. Our work extends beyond our communities; yet everything we create has at the center the perspective and needs of trans people of color.

QTPoC Mental Health achieves all of the above and more through running an online support group, organizing monthly meditations in the NYC area, sharing resources to 35,000 followers, publishing original writing and art on our website Rest for Resistance, and creating print resources like our first zine.

We're always dreaming of new ways to heal and grow, and your donations ensure we can bring that healing to our communities. You can also donate through http://patreon.com/qtpoc and http://shop.restforresistance.com, where we have our zine and more apparel.

The world needs to change to accept the reality of trans* bodies, rather than trying to force trans folks into a box that was never made for them.
