My son will do his max time 5 yrs state prison dirty urines and selling heroine. 2 yrs gp and total of 2 yrs in the hole a kenneled animal. He needed help and certainly didn’t get it!

My son is a long time alcoholic and has recently used drugs too. His dad was alcoholic. VERY sad!

I work in treatment and I see the need for rehabilitation everyday, face to face. I am also the mother of someone who struggles with this horrible disease.
I'm a recovering alcoholic of 8 years (this Aug 3rd). I spent time in county jail and the resources offered for alcoholics/addicts was next to none. Just horrible.
My son is on the vicious cycle of addiction. Most rehab standards are subpar in our area. Best bet to get help, overdose. Sad but true.
Our government can do better, when are they going to understand addiction is a disease of the brain.
