About this campaign
When you order some super comfy Renewal in the Wilderness swag for yourself (and all the people you love) you are building our capacity to help the helpers!
We are raising money to grow our "Renewal for a Caring Community" scholarship fund. The beneficiaries of this fund are individuals and organizations who, through their compassionate work, are helping to make our communities more healthy, more sustainable, and more just.
Renewal in the Wilderness guides wilderness trips and local nature retreats to push back against problems of burnout in the “helping” professions. We invite professional helpers (like health care and social service providers, first responders, educators, community organizers, and faith leaders) to join us for hours or days of renewal.
The scholarships make it possible for individual caring professionals to join one of our multi-day wilderness trips, and they subsidize staff retreats for care-providing organizations and non-profits.

Renewal in the Wilderness is a nonprofit organization based in Portland, Maine working to connect people with wild nature in ways that strengthen their sense of purpose and sustain the spirit of compassion in their lives.
We do this by guiding wilderness trips for people who need renewal in their personal lives, and by facilitating local nature retreats for organizations in need of a grounded and resilient workforce.
Through our offerings to individuals and organizations we focus our resources on helping those who are working to make the world a better place through their compassionate efforts and caring professions.

I believe in the healing power of the outdoors
As the founder I have a vested heart reason to support RITW. It changed my life, as it did for those who took our trips. These shirts are for the men of my men's group, all of whom have been to the BWCA with RITW twice.
I was fortunate to win the grand prize at a fundraiser for renewal in the wilderness of a scholarship to go on a 3 day backcountry hiking backpacking and canoe trip! The trip was an amazing and life changing. Aram I am forever grateful.
