ROCKY #3 original bronze statue fundraising campaign - International Institute for Sport History

This event supports the International Institute for Sport History, a Pennsylvania non-profit educational, literary & research corporation under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue code. (Federal Tax ID# 41-2041155). We are organized to operate a LIBRARY and MUSEUM for the history of sport, physical education, recreation, dance, sport in art and the Olympic Games. We have first rights to acquire the original bronze statue known as ROCKY #3 of three that were cast by artist A. Thomas Schomberg.for Sylvestor Stallone for use in his film, ROCKY III. The first statue is still in Philadelphia, a gift to the city by Stallone. ROCKY #2 was sold to Robert Breitbard of San Diego, California and was in his museum, but he died in 2010. His family kept the museum open until 2017. At that time they sold half of their collection, including ROCKY #2, at an auction. The buyer was... Sylvestor Stallone!
