About this campaign
All funds raised from this campaign will directly support the work of the Limbe Wildlife Centre (LWC) to rescue, protect and conserve Cameroonian wildlife.
Our t-shirt campaign is inspired by Bobga, an orphan baby gorilla currently being cared for at the LWC (see picture below). Bobga, along with most of the animals at the LWC was rescued from the illegal bush meat and pet trade. Our aim is rehabilitate animals like Bobga with the aim of one day returning them to the wild. Until that day comes, animals like Bobga need our care and protection. By supporting this campaign you will help us to provide him and the 260 other animals at the LWC with the care they need to recover from their traumatic pasts, and enable us to continue rescuing other animals just like Bobga.

Degradation of habitats, poaching and the live animal trade has led to the rapid decline of hundreds of species. In the Central African region alone, which harbours one of the most diverse populations of primates in the world, monkeys are hunted or poached at alarming rates, including all three African great apes (bonobo, chimpanzee and gorilla).
The LWC was established in 1993 to provide care and rehabilitation to primates and other wild animals confiscated from the illegal bush meat and wildlife trades, and educate and engage the local community in conservation. The Limbe Wildlife Centre is one of only few sanctuaries in Cameroon providing a second chance to orphaned, injured and abused wild animals. These animals include the Western Lowland Gorilla (critically endangered), Central and Nigeria-Cameroon Chimpanzee (endangered), Drill (endangered), Preuss Monkey (endangered), and other threatened species including the African Grey Parrot (endangered).

I was lucky enough to visit the LWC in 2005, while volunteering for Pandrillus' other rescue center in Nigeria. A beautiful place with dedicated staff doing amazing work. Keep up the good work!
I have heard many horror stories about the poaching and slaughtering of apes, and wish to help this conservation effort.
