Nevada Artist Anastiscia Chantler is hoping her artwork will help raise awareness about the horrors of Lyme disease as well as the need for improved prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The purpose behind this T shirt drive is to try to bring to light the urgent need for awareness and treatment of this debilitating and slow killer.
Anastiscia herself was infected in 2008 and wrongly diagnosed until 2014. Lyme robbed her of her former career, her social life, relationships, her assets and her ability to take part in everyday aspects of life we take for granted. It has robbed society of so many productive contributors like herself. It is only recently that LYME DISEASE has become somewhat heard of due to celebrities sharing their stories publicly.
Treatment for Lyme disease is EXTREMELY costly and complex and requires a combination of modalities over a period of years usually, with maintenance protocols after that to regain a life back and keep it. Anyone who knows about the devastating disease knows ALL TREATMENT IS COMPLETELY OUT OF POCKET and runs in the 10s of thousands of dollars.
If Lyme disease is NOT diagnosed early, the Lyme spirochetes will spread through the body, burrow into the organs and create detrimental neurological problems, nervous system problems, joint and muscle deterioration, endocrine dysfunction, heart and circulation issues, digestive, to name a few. It is a living HELL. If left UNTREATED it will morph into serious autoimmune diseases and even death.
Due to VERY limited options in other countries, people from all over the world often end up in the USA for costly treatments. This T shirt drive is a cry for help. SILENCE WILL NOT STOP AN EPIDEMIC. Anastiscia Chantler-Lang is trying to HELP OTHERS and herself at the Lyme clinic she attends for much needed treatment in progress. Her goal is to MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
On her few strong days here and there she is dedicated to helping through her artwork and has created this T shirt design.
