About this campaign
This campaign is driven for the purpose of keeping the SPIRIT Open Equestrian Program in the Park! Every purchase of a SPIRIT t-shirt and hoodie, along with any donations, will help towards supporting our requirements for the equipment and management of our program!
Thanks to the Fairfax County Park Authority we had an opportunity to move into the Frying Pan Farm Park and continue our service. It is a great chance for our future, but the journey is not over yet.
Our Boarding Agreement with FCPA is for one year, so far. And as of right yet, can not be extended after 2021.
Spirit is still looking for a permanent home.
SPIRIT was given a new life and second chance thanks to YOU. Like the horses we rescue, we know who saved us and know that we have each and every one of you to thank. If you are reading this, YOU are important. Do not underestimate the power of a group when it believes in a cause. Do not underestimate good karma built year after year. Do not underestimate the hard work of good people to make the impossible, possible. Each of you supported us along the way, however you could, and SPIRIT thanks you for keeping us alive in Fairfax County.
Now let's rock in our new home and continue to do great things every day!
Please, choose Spirit to make your donation and make a difference in Fairfax County and the NoVa Community for hundreds of families, children and youth. We are working hard to raise money to support the future of SPIRIT.
All money will be used to assure the continuation of services that SPIRIT provides by renting or purchasing a new place to accommodate our horses and program activities.
SPIRIT provides therapy, learning and improvement of life skills healing of the body, mind and spirit - using Equine-Assisted Activities.
SPIRIT has the power to change and improve the community by serving those with special needs as a much-needed source of therapeutic activities. The longer-term impact of SPIRIT is that it can help to improve basic life skills for youth populations and young adults.
Horses used in therapy provide healing processes. Human interaction with them, as created by a well-trained and skilled instructor or therapist, can change the quality of life of the participant and his/her family. Raising generations of young people with a strong sense of respect, compassion, self-esteem, responsibility and good leadership skills are just a few of the benefits derived from the therapeutic service of horses.
Our vision is to create a unique model for Equine Assisted Activities - therapies and education in urban areas such as the one we serve currently.
