About this campaign

Service Without Borders (SWB) Tanzania is an interdisciplinary, student-led organization whose goal is to share the spirit locally and globally. SWB students have traveled to Tanzania for three consecutive summers to work in a remote town called Engaruka. SWB students have been working with the Maasai people, one of the poorest tribes in Tanzania, to build and continue to grow an English-speaking primary school. This school gives children, especially girls, the opportunity to attend school and get an education, that they may otherwise not have been able to pursue.

This year Service without Borders, in collaboration with the Maasai Education Foundation, will once again be traveling to Engaruka, Tanzania to assist in the further development of the Engaruka English Medium Primary School. This past year, we have been raising money to fund the installation of a computer lab, which will be used as a tool to not only help further the students’ education in English, but to help teach them basic computer skills as well. The playground that we constructed last year has received a lot of love and will require some maintenance as well. We are especially excited to be organizing and participating in the first annual EEMPS Spelling Bee. Our team is so excited for the opportunity to return to Tanzania this summer; we hope that you will support us by purchasing one of our t-shirts!
