Payton was temporarily living and working in Texas when he began getting pneumonia symptoms. He was treated for pneumonia throughout March with no success and with his symptoms worsening they admitted him to the hospital in Texas. He had fluid on his heart and in his lungs. They began running various tests and were very sure he had hodgkins lymphoma. Once he was stable they cleared him to head back to Iowa and follow up with cardiology, pulmonary, and oncology once home. Paytons lungs an heart filled with fluid again and he ended up in the ER and then ICU. A specialist cathed and drained his heart and they tubed his lungs and did another biopsy of their own. They then gave him a different diagnosis but then went back to hodgkins lymphoma. He had to began chemo urgently due to the location of his tumors which are in the middle of his chest and kept causing all the fluid. He has had a rough road with multiple hospitalizations and diagnosis to include,pneumomia, DVT, pleural effusion, pericardial infusion, immuno compromised, hodgkins lymphoma. His treatment plan includes 6 months of aggressive chemo and then radiation for a month to unknown.
