HEAR FROM BRYNDEE HERSELF
:

Hi, my name is Bryndee Jacobs. I am 25 years old and I have ovarian cancer. To say that I am surprised would be an understatement. I did not go to the doctor because of any issues to do with my ovaries. My cancer is an "incidental finding." I have had severe pain for a long time around my liver. They removed my gall bladder because it was not working properly and they thought that that was the source of my pain. It was not, so I continued to go to doctor after doctor. They all seemed to dismiss what it was. No real tests were done. It was just pass me on to another doctor. One doctor even told me that sometimes "people just have pain" and wanted to refer me to a pain management doctor. In talking to my family, we felt that this would be covering up the pain without even trying to find the problem. Finally, I did not request a CT Scan, I basically demanded it. With that scan, came concern and finally some proper testing. However, the testing was now of my entire abdomen because of the "concerns." Very shortly after the CT scans, MRI and two ultrasounds they told me I had a grapefruit size mass on my right ovary and another mass on my left ovary but they couldn't tell how big it was because it is being blocked by the other. We will not know the extent of where the cancer has spread until the doctor completes his surgery. I will fight this cancer. I will rely on the strength of my family, my friends, my work family and all of those I have never met but I know they are praying for me. Any funds that come from this fundraiser will go to any bills that are incurred during my surgery, chemo or any other expenses that come along because of this disease. My gratefulness is unending to those that reach their hands out to me, to those that are praying for me and to those that show their love to me every day.
