The Story of Kayse Alexander Cormier

On September 29th, 2015 a beautiful baby boy was born by the name of Kayse Alexander Cormier. All signs pointed to a very healthy baby.

On October 18, 2015 terror hit! Our beautiful baby Kayse went into Heart Failure. We rushed him to Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, LA where they were able to stabilize him for transport. Women’s & Children's in Lafayette, LA sent a transport team to take him. Within minutes of being in Lafayette he was diagnosed and a plan was set for treatment. Kayse was suffering from Coarctation of the Aorta – Ductal Coarctation, Aortic Stenosis and VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect). He was then airlifted to Childrn’s Hospitalin New Orleas, LA. He wa admitted in thePICU to awai surgery. Al of thishappening within 8 hours.

n October 21, 2015 Kayse had his first surgery to fix the Coarctation of the Aorta and Aortic Stenosis. A band was also placed to control blood flow due to the VSD.

On October 30, 2015 Kayse was released from Children's Hospital and allow to come home.


Kayse will undergo his next surgery, February 22, 2016. This will entail open heart sgery and he will go on bypass to place a patch between his left and right ventricle.

We, Curt & Renee, sit here every day humbled by the precious care the Doctors and Nurses have given our baby. Not having to ever deal with anything like this before we were amazed how our baby’s care and condition was handled. Not only were we informed every step of the way, we were reassured. Our baby was in te best hnds and are in the wrld. From ths moment on e knew we needed to step up and be a part of what is going on in Heart Disease. Be there for others that have to go through this, share our son’s story to give hope to others. Miracles happen every day, most happen at these great institutions. God places his hands everywhere, he placed them on our son and all of the gracious people that helped our son during this time.
