We usually have a big Christmas Eve Party & stay up until midnight and open our gifts. Due to some circumstances we have to keep it small. & when i mean small, i mean just the 5 of us which is me, kris & the 3 kids.

The last 4 weeks has been the most difficult 4 weeks of my life. It was life changing for me as a mother. & I pray to god that no one goes through what i went through the last couple of weeks.

On November 26 my son was born 6 weeks prematurely. We don’t know why he decided to come so early but i believe he knew there was something wrong with his big sister Isabella.

A few days after Roman was born on November 30th around 4am, Isabella was rushed to the emergency room (by me & kris) which what we thought was only a high fever and infected lip. But, it turned out to be more than that. The doctor wanted to get a CT scan of her neck because her nodes were so swollen he just wanted to make sure there weren’t any abscesses (the results came out fine) & full panel bloodwork. Isabella’s bloodwork turned out to be alarming to the doctor; he explained to us that her WBCs were extremely low. WBCs are supposed to be in the 5,000s and Isabella’s was below 500s.

He told us that Isabella was showing early signs of “Childhood Cancer” and my heart dropped. I wasn’t sure if i heard him right. The doctor went into what he thinks she may have and it was either Leukemia or Lymphoma Cancer; or it just MIGHT be a really bad infection that her body couldn’t fight off. He then told us that the hospital we were at didn’t have a children’s oncologist and hematologist & this is something that we CAN NOT wait on & that he was transferring us to Summerlin Hospital. It didn’t really hit me until i felt kris hand rubbing my back and i heard him crying.

We got the confirmation on December 4th that Isabella has B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia; on top of that she also had a Staph-ammonia Infection. Isabella started chemotherapy and antibiotics right away and has been so strong throughout this process. She still doesn’t understand the word “CANCER” but she does understand how sick she is. She knows she can’t go back to school, that she can’t be in big crowd, & that her hair is going to fall out.

Isabella finally came home on December 20th which made me & my family very happy that she gets to not only be home but she can spend Christmas at home. I can’t believe how much of a little warrior I have, she did have her ups and downs throughout this process but at the end of the day she was always in good spirits.

Isabella was a little upset she can’t spend Christmas with her cousins, aunties, uncles & grandparents. But, she does know it’s for her safety. Anybody who has a small cough, sore throat or any type of sickness puts her at risk for a bad infection again and she could end up in the hospital.

I don’t know how I got through the past couple of weeks without my family. I want to thank them and friends who i reached out to for not only being there for me but checking up on me and how i was feeling. I’ve cried so much and blamed myself for Isabella having cancer. But, there’s nothing I did wrong. The type of cancer Isabella has isn’t genetic or something i did wrong while i was pregnant. It just happened and doctors can’t explain how she got it. I’m sharing this with you because i want people to help me find the strength in me to get through this process. It’s going to be a long journey for us and i want to be as positive & strong for my family as much as i can be. Thanks for reading & Merry Christmas ❣️
