"On July 17, 2021 Conservation Opportunity and Olita conducted an event called “Barrio: Reunión de siembra y arte”, located at Rompeolas beach in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
Conservation Opportunity (CO) is a new non-profit organization incorporated this year in Puerto Rico that shares opportunities within environmental conservation through our website and social networks. Olita is an organization created in 2012 whose mission is to divert people from the cycle of poverty and has the goal of 2021 to catalyze urban density and offer new opportunities for residents of the La Vía and Cerro Calero neighborhoods in Aguadilla.
This summer, Olita and CO have teamed up to coordinate an event that will be part of the Latino Conservation Week initiatives which integrates art and 100 native tree planting in Rompeolas, Aguadilla, PR. In this event, we restored the area by cleaning the beach from trash (we removed 15 bags of trash), planting 100 native trees, and painting a mural. The event was open to the general public. However, we focused our outreach towards the La Vía and Cerro Calero neighborhoods in Aguadilla.
The photo shows the Conservation Opportunity staff proudly wearing their first ever organization t-shirts with the new logo. Thanks to Custom Ink, we were able to quickly order our shirts, make sure they looked just like we wanted and they arrived on time for the event. Custom Ink helped us with our decision through their amazing DIY online mock up generator, fast communication through their online live chat and effective communication through email. Our staff is grateful for Custom Ink taking care of our image and providing us with t-shirts that are comfortable and breathable to work outside with the community and the environment. THANK YOU!"
