How Drs. Allen & Kelly Smudde Got Local Kids to Give Up Their Candy (And Bring Smiles to Troops Overseas!)

"Every year, Drs. Allen & Kelly Smudde's dental office holds an Operation Gratitude: Candy Buyback event to encourage the kids in our community to give up their Halloween candy in exchange for money (for themselves and their schools). We then send all the candy, along with letters written by the kids and other treats, to our troops serving overseas. It's one of our team's favorite traditions, and we're always blown away by the support we get from the kids, parents, PTA groups, and our local U.S. Army Recruiting office.
