Keep Calm It's a Kershaw Thing

"Every year my family get together for our annual Labor Day beach vacation. Two things are always certain: t-shirts and photographs. Our tradition, one started over seven years ago includes traveling to Myrtle Beach, SC spending all of our time together and making sure we mark the moment with a photo. Well this year, we decided we would take our pictures after our thanksgiving-style Sunday dinner, including a turkey at the beach(unheard). After dinner we noticed the skies to become a bit cloudy and once we all decided to still just get in the car and drive to look for a spot, because it was only "raining in spots" the rain began to pour down. We drive to this perfect pit by the marina to take our pictures, it seemed the rain stopped just for our picture, at least we thought. As soon as we headed down the stairs(not the original place scene to take our pictures) it begins to pour right down on us. Two family members are not pictured because someone had to take the picture and another hold the umbrella over them so it wouldn't distort the picture. Tensing up, shivering, soak and wet, we managed to get this one presentable picture, however we treasure the others just as much. Family time always means a good time to me. The shirt reads: "Keep Calm it's a Kershaw Thing" and at the bottom "Rest in Peace Lillie Lanise Kershaw," our matriarch and the reason why we started this tradition after she lost her fight with Pancreatic Cancer, 12/26/06." - Kershaw Family (Sep 10, 2015)
