Tips for Your Custom Koozie Design

A few things that make a difference between a good koozie and a great one:

Center your design: The koozie surface has a slight curve, so artwork centered on the main print area stays fully visible from the front. Avoid designs that stretch all the way to the edges unless you're ordering full-wrap styles.

Keep it readable at small scale: A logo that looks great at full size can get muddy when printed small. Our artist review catches these issues before production — but the simpler the design, the crisper the result.

Think about what people will be drinking: If your event has a mix of standard cans, slim cans, and bottles, consider ordering a mix of styles. Check the product details to confirm which sizes each style fits before you order.

Don't overthink personalization: Personalized koozies with individual names look impressive but are simpler to order than most people expect. Set up your base design in Design Lab and our team will walk you through the rest.

Choosing the Right Koozie Material

Not all koozies are built the same — the material affects insulation, durability, print quality, and how long guests actually keep them.

Foam: The most budget-friendly option. Lightweight, packable, and great for high-volume giveaways like fundraising walks, festivals, and corporate events where quantity matters. Classic collapsible foam is our most popular style for a reason.

Neoprene: Better insulation and a more premium feel. Neoprene koozies hold their shape, hold their print, and hold up through repeated use — making them the top choice for weddings, bachelorette parties, and events where guests will keep them long after the day is done.

Slim Can: Designed for 12 oz and 16 oz slim cans — hard seltzers, skinny cocktails, energy drinks. If your crowd drinks White Claw, Truly, or Michelob Ultra, this is the style to order. Available in foam and neoprene.

Bottle Coolers: Fit most standard bottles; styles include collapsible sleeve and zip-up closure options. Great for craft beer nights, wine events, or anywhere bottles are more common than cans. Starting at 150 pieces.

Custom Koozies for Every Occasion

Weddings: Custom wedding koozies have become one of the most popular favors at modern receptions — practical enough to use all night, personal enough to keep as a keepsake. Add your names, wedding date, or a meaningful phrase through Design Lab. With many styles starting at 150–250 pieces and full-color printing available, you can match your exact color palette and theme. Our team can help you coordinate timing for your big day.

Bachelorette & Bachelor Parties: From matching neoprene koozies for a lake house weekend to foam collapsibles for a bar crawl, custom koozies are one of the fastest and most affordable ways to make the group feel like a group. Tumbler styles start at just 24 pieces for smaller parties.

Corporate Events & Trade Shows: Koozies are lightweight, universally useful, and inexpensive enough to hand out at scale — which is exactly what makes them one of the highest-value trade show giveaways. Add your logo and website, and your brand travels wherever the drink goes.

Tailgates & Game Days: Team colors, mascots, slogans — custom koozies are a tailgate staple. Order in team colors with your game day messaging and turn every cooler into a branding moment.

Fundraisers & Charity Events: Custom koozies are high-margin merch that people actually want. Sell them at events, include them in donor packages, or use them to reward volunteers. Easy to order in the quantities you need, at prices that make sense for nonprofits.

Birthday Parties & Milestone Events: Whether it's a 30th birthday, retirement celebration, or reunion, personalized koozies add a custom touch that elevates the event. Include the guest of honor's name, a funny quote, or the event date.

Family Reunions & Community Events: Get the whole crew matching. Custom koozies with a shared name, year, or inside joke make for instant conversation starters and long-lasting souvenirs.

How Custom Koozies Are Printed

The decoration method affects how your finished koozie looks, how durable it is, and how well it handles complex artwork. Here's how to match the right method to your design.

Screen Printing (1 color): The most affordable print method. Sharp, durable, and ideal for simple logos, text, or single-color designs. Best when you need high volume at the lowest per-unit cost.

Full-Color Digital Print: Edge-to-edge printing with no color limits. Full-color handles photos, gradients, multicolor logos, and detailed artwork that can't be simplified to one or two spot colors. Available on select foam and neoprene styles.

Laser Engraved: Available on select stainless tumbler styles and accessories, not on koozies themselves. A precise, permanent mark with a polished, premium look — ideal for corporate gifts and keepsakes.

Not sure which method fits your logo? That's fine - just upload your artwork in Design Lab and we'll automatically select the best printing method based off our over 25 years of experience making amazing custom products for millions of customers.

Slim Can Koozies for Hard Seltzers, Skinny Cocktails & Energy Drinks

The slim can format has exploded — and standard koozies don't fit. Our slim can styles are cut to fit 12 oz and 16 oz slim cans perfectly: White Claw, Truly, Michelob Ultra, High Noon, Celsius, and similar formats.

Available in foam and neoprene, with single-color and full-color print options. Filter this page by "Slim Can" to see all our available slim can koozie options.

Why Custom Koozies Are One of the Most Effective Promotional Products

Unlike disposable marketing materials, a koozie is something people actually keep and use. It shows up at parties, tailgates, campfires, beach days, and workplaces — generating impressions in social settings over months or even years. A single custom koozie can put your brand in front of dozens of people it was never handed to. That combination of functionality, portability, and reuse makes custom koozies consistently one of the highest-ROI promotional items available, especially at the price points bulk orders unlock.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do custom koozies have minimum order quantities?

It depends on the style. Most collapsible foam and neoprene can cooler styles start at 150–250 pieces. Bottle cooler styles start at 150. Tumbler and stainless styles begin at 24 pieces. Check the product page or use the filters on this page to find the right style for your quantity.

What koozie materials are available?

We offer foam, neoprene, and fabric koozies — and the right choice depends on your event, your budget, and how much insulation you need. Foam is the most budget-friendly and works well for high-volume giveaways. Neoprene offers better insulation and holds up through more uses, making it a popular choice for weddings and events where guests will keep them. Fabric styles have a softer look and feel. If you're not sure which is right for your order, our team is available seven days a week to help you decide.

Can I add names or personalized text to each koozie?

Yes — you can add individual names, dates, initials, custom text, or any combination directly through our Design Lab. Personalized koozies are a popular choice for weddings, bachelorette parties, and reunions where each guest gets their own. Just set up your design with the personalization you want, and we'll handle the rest.

How quickly can I get custom koozies?

Standard free shipping delivers in approximately two weeks. Rush options — including 1-week rush and 3-day super rush on select styles — are available when your event is closer. Check the product page for rush availability on the specific style you're ordering.

What can I put on a custom koozie?

Pretty much anything. Names and dates, team logos, wedding monograms, event hashtags, funny quotes, inside jokes, mascots, photos — our Design Lab supports full-color printing, so you're not limited to a few spot colors. Start from scratch or choose from our koozie template library if you want a head start. If you'd like help with the design, our design experts are available at no extra charge.

What's the difference between foam and neoprene koozies?

Foam koozies are lighter, more packable, and lower cost — great for high-volume events and giveaways. Neoprene offers better insulation, a more premium feel, and holds up better through repeated use. For events where guests are likely to keep the koozie afterward — weddings, bachelorette parties — neoprene is usually the better call.

Why should I order custom koozies from Custom Ink?

Do you make slim can koozies for hard seltzers and skinny cans?

Yes. We carry slim can styles in both foam and neoprene, designed to fit 12 oz and 16 oz slim cans — the format used by hard seltzers, skinny cocktails, energy drinks, and more. Filter this page by "slim can" or check the product detail pages.

What file format should I submit for my artwork for my koozie design?

Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) give the cleanest results, especially for logos with fine detail. High-resolution JPG or PNG files (300 DPI or higher) also work well. If your artwork isn't quite ready, our design team is available at no extra charge to help clean it up or rebuild it.

Are koozies reusable and washable?

Yes. Foam koozies are hand-washable and hold up through many uses. Neoprene koozies are more durable, machine-washable on a gentle cycle, and built to last through years of tailgates, beach trips, and backyard hangs.

Do koozies actually keep drinks cold?

They do — by slowing the rate of heat transfer between your hand and the can, and between the can and the ambient air. Neoprene provides better insulation than foam and is closer in performance to wetsuit material. Neither replaces a cooler, but both meaningfully extend how long a cold drink stays cold in your hand.
