As a Birth Doula, I stand for supporting, educating, and empowering women in their rights in childbirth and I wholeheartedly believe in VBACs!
I VBAC'ed with my last two sons - preventing the first c-section is key but for the mom who had a c-section the awareness that she has the ability to do this is the important message!
All women should feel informed and empowered about giving birth!
I had a cesarean with my first child and now I am being told that the hospital closest to me doesn't do VBAC. I'm fighting for my right to birth the way I feel is the safest and best for both myself and my baby.
My emergency c-section was the result of a "cascade of intervention" and I believe it could have easily been avoided if I had the proper support and time I needed to let my body do what it was meant to do!
I had a VBAC with my second baby and think that every woman should have the chance to do so. A lot of education and awareness needs to be done!
