About this campaign
Did you know that currently in the U.S., 1 in 3 children, or roughly 32.8%, are born by cesarean? ICAN seeks to promote the lowering of the cesarean rate as recommended by health organization watch dogs by offering support, education, and advocacy to birthing women.

My first was an unnecessary CS delivery resulting from a combination of my own exhaustion & vulnerability, and the doctor wanting to go home for dinner. Childbirth is not about doctor's convenience! Looking forward to a VBAC this summer.
I believe women need to know the truth about birth - the good and the bad...
I'm a VBA2C - with the support of ICAN. Went on to HBAC and eventually became a midwife. Education and informed consent and choice is everything. A group of women to help hold you up when you don't feel strong enough yourself -- it's priceless.
Because I know my body can do this if just given the chance. Thank you ICAN for giving me the support I so desperately need, but have such a hard time finding.
To start the discussion with women who don't think much about the outcome of their birth journey until it happens.
My vbac was such a defining moment in my life! Education is empowerment.
