About this campaign
Did you know that currently in the U.S., 1 in 3 children, or roughly 32.8%, are born by cesarean? ICAN seeks to promote the lowering of the cesarean rate as recommended by health organization watch dogs by offering support, education, and advocacy to birthing women.

Mother's and Babies deserve better maternity care, period. 1 in 3 women are NOT broken!
Love ICAN and all they do!
Because it all happens so fast and being aware of what might happen will help you make better informed choices in the critical moments.
I CAN is wonderful. They referred me to my midwives. My birth was my way ( no c section) im so glad there are advocates for natural birth. My first-class a c section but my second was a successful v bac. It was amazing!!
For the health and safety of future generations I would like to see the C-section rate decline and give VBAC's more support instead of making them battles. Proud of my VBA2C!
I support this campaign because 1) I shouldn't have been coerced into a cesarean the first time (NO means NO) and 2) I shouldn't have had to bring in a midwife from another country to have a qualified midwife attend my HBAC here in Turkey.
I am determined to take my experience of an unnecessary cesarean and help other women become educated about their birth options and feel empowered over their bodies.
I had two amazing natural births, one of which could have easily ended in a cesarean without my own research, a great doula, and a midwife that valued my birth plan. Every mom should have the same opportunity.
