About this campaign
Did you know that currently in the U.S., 1 in 3 children, or roughly 32.8%, are born by cesarean? ICAN seeks to promote the lowering of the cesarean rate as recommended by health organization watch dogs by offering support, education, and advocacy to birthing women.

I was 1 in 3. Thanks to a couple of incredible ladies, my supportive husband and ICAN I had a healing VBAC last year. I pray this epidemic of unnecessary cesareans ends very soon!
I had an unnecessary csection in 2005 and two vbacs since.
I feel very strongly that every birth is an act of courage and that women should be treated with dignity and their birth choices respected - whatever they may be!
As a certified birth doula I have been honored and blessed to be with many VBAC mommas when they had their VBAC and the look on the faces of moms at that moment of " I did it" is beautiful
I ended up having a medically very necessary cesarean as a result of a medically unnecessary, botched induction. If I can prevent one more family from going through what we did, I consider it my moral obligation.
I was a victim of an unnecessary c-section as a result of an unnecessary induction. We need to educate and empower women!
