About this campaign
Did you know that currently in the U.S., 1 in 3 children, or roughly 32.8%, are born by cesarean? ICAN seeks to promote the lowering of the cesarean rate as recommended by health organization watch dogs by offering support, education, and advocacy to birthing women.

Awareness is important!!
Education is important for those trying to avoid a first c-section or those, like myself, preparing for a VBAC! My sister plans to proudly wear hers to spread awareness!
My first child was born via cesarean, which I now believe was unnecessary. And my second was a successful VBAC. I want to help educate and empower women to be their own advocates and to know how to avoid unnecessary c-sections.
The members and leaders of ICAN are amazing. I discovered this group when pregnant with my fourth child (after three unnecessary cesareans). Though I would have liked to have found this group many years sooner, I am thankful to be a member now.
ICAN has helped me heal from my traumatic cesarean and go on to gain the strength and knowledge to have a very healing HBAC. I joined the board of our local ICAN chapter to continue to bring this healing and power to other women.
