Kosciuszko Bridge Project Team Making History

"This is the Kosciuszko Bridge Project Team busy building the first cable-stayed bridge in New York City, which replaces the existing bridge constructed back in 1939! Our hard-working craft team is shown wearing our "Keep Calm and Keep Building" CustomInk t-shirts following our monthly Safety Standdown meetings in the field. They are proudly standing by the newly constructed approach in Brooklyn on new Cherry Street and under the new approach in Queens - next to the existing bridge. SKANSKA-Kiewit-ECCOIII JV (SKE) is the contractor team for the NYS Department of Transportation's $555 million Phase I Kosciuszko Bridge project. A full traffic switchover onto the new bridge over Newtown Creek, which is being constructed parallel to the existing bridge, is scheduled by early 2017. We're proud to be working on such a historic project, which will create a signature skyline element between Brooklyn and Queens for generations to come.
