Founded in 1874 at Syracuse University, Gamma Phi Beta was actually the organization that coined the term “sorority” (which means “sisterhood”) thanks to a professor at Syracuse. With the motto “Founded Upon a Rock,” Gamma Phi Beta is an active supporter of Camp Fire USA and Girl Guides of Canada. Gamma Phi Beta has initiated over 175,000 collegiate members to date.
