There's nothing wrong with going 3 cleasss. South Dakota seems to get by just fine with 3 cleasss, and SD is more of a basketball state than ND is. Teams will not be traveling across the state to play their games at least not on a regular basis. And even if they do, what of it? The big schools do it all the time. Fargo to Devils Lake on a Tuesday night? Grand Forks to Valley City on a Thursday? Jamestown to Williston any night? So what? welcome to a state with a small population. The irony is that people compain about the dynasties, then complain about how this new breakdown will let everyone have a better chance to succeed. I don't hear anyone feeling sorry for Fargo South that they are breaking them up to give more people opportunities to play so is giving more kids an opportunity to play and have a chance to play in a state tournament a good thing or a bad thing you can't have it both ways. Also, just a few other items the fact that the NDHSAA is located in VC has nothing to do with anything. VC is going Class B next year anyway, this rule isn't for them. The David vs Goliath matchups in the B's is over. Epping was 30+ years ago, for the current crop of high school players it may as well have been 300 years ago. The biggest opponents of the 3 class system are the old timers who can't let go of that one game and think for some reason if ND goes 3 cleasss it will somehow tarnish their memory of that game.
