"We've been participating in this charity event for 10 years. Most years, only a few people have walked. Last year, we had over a dozen, so we decided to have shirts made. This year, we had 22, plus a 2-year old who had her own specially customized Phat Hal shirt. The shirts were terrific; we were informally voted the team with the best shirts at the event. "Our family formed team Retinal Degenerates to raise money to support efforts towards finding a cure for blindness. Our mother suffers from Macular Degeneration, a disease that progressively causes blindness over time. There is no cure, but with stem cell research and our fundraising efforts we are so close to finding a cure for do many retinal diseases.
Our mom's vision loss had never hindered her. She runs 5 miles a day, fought breast cancer, and still makes dinner for 100 of our Italian family members every holiday! We are so proud to be her family and to walk in her honor with her name on our backs thanks to customink!"
