"I mentioned to my friends that I was going to walk in the Strides against Breast Cancer walk on October 17th in downtown Grand Rapids. My grandmother passed away in 1997 and I owed my effort to do my part. Well, many other people wanted to do their part because they have been affected somehow whether it be by a friend or family member. When it was time to walk, we have 60 people who were making a difference on our team!!! Truly amazing! "On October 19th 2008, family and friends gathered in honor of my mom, who passed away in 2005, to participate in our third Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. This photo is a small sampling of our team, as it is me with my mom's nieces and nephews. "We walked this morning at the Making Strides walk in San Diego, California. Our team totalling 15 team members walked four miles in hopes that we would someday find a cure, and to honor those we know who have survived, are fighting currently, and those we miss dearly.
